Spiders of all sizes (up to bodies 1.5 inches long+ legs) fled away from their feet in all directions. Seriously, it was more than a little freaky. Yet in all the time, I don't think a single spider climbed on any of us. They clearly wanted to get away. On the other hand, I think I swallowed about 15 of the gnats that clustered around my headlamp. "Breathe through your nose," Elvis laughed. Not easy when you're panting from the heat! I can't imagine being surrounded by so many spiders. Even one freaks me out, if it is moving toward me. You are both so brave! Have you seen any snakes? I am not afraid of snakes.
